HI ... I'M RON.

I’ve struggled with anxiety (social anxiety).

I’ve struggled with self-doubt (imposter syndrome).

I’ve struggled with many health issues (I’m allergic to just about everything in the world - which has compounded my anxiety and self-doubt).

And I’m well aware of the feeling of overwhelm as your heart skips a beat and then starts pounding in your chest at a thousand miles per hour as a panic attack grips your entire being.

For over three decades, I’ve been on a quest to figure out how to improve my health and survive with crippling anxiety and self-doubt.

I’ve read just about every personal development book in existence.

I’ve studied neuroscience, positive psychology, stoic philosophy, mindfulness, flow, leadership, productivity, spirituality, relationships, strengths, coaching and dozens of other modalities.

All to figure out how to eliminate panic and transform anxiety into calm confidence.

And it all boils down to one common truth.

Your Habits!

It doesn’t matter what you know.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve read or learned.

It doesn’t matter where you were born or who your parents were.

To transform your life, be free from anxiety, overcome self-doubt and develop unstoppable confidence requires you to take action.

Not just once!

But again, and again, and again.

And what happens when life throws you a curve ball and knocks you on your ass?

Yup, you guessed it!

You get up and do it again, and again, and again.

I was doubtful at first (and you might be as well).

So over seven years ago (the summer of 2015, to be exact), I set a target for myself to install 100 mindful habits.

To move from theory to practice to mastery.

And in the summer of 2022, I installed my one-hundredth habit.

I’m excited to report that habits have transformed my life.

I haven’t had a panic attack in years.

At 54 years of age, I’m stronger and healthier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.

And my confidence continues to grow each and every day as I take on bigger and better challenges.

The attached photo is from my first Spartan Race, a gruelling 5km race over rugged terrain and along the way, they throw in 20 obstacles just for fun!

For those of you who know me, it’s something I never thought I could do!

One of the key insights I discovered is that my mental and physical health challenges resulted from thousands of mindless habits that I had unintentionally programmed myself with as directed by the part of my brain constantly scanning for threats.

These mindless habits kept me in a vicious, never-ending cycle of anxiety and self-doubt.

It wasn’t until I started implementing several mindful habits that I was able to end the constant suffering and discover what it really means to be human.

And now, it’s finally time to take the next step in my journey.

Which is to help others free themselves from the vicious, re-enforcing, never-ending cycle of anxiety and self-doubt.

So I’m looking for a few courageous people who want to transform their anxiety into calm confidence.

My vision for the mindful habits community is:

To bring out the best of everyone who joins, by creating a safe, supportive and encouraging space, as we work on implementing our personalized anxiety transformation plan, in our common cause to tame our anxiety and develop calm confidence, together!

Over my lifetime, I’ve been either leading or participating in dozens of communities, both big and small.

When it comes to community, I love the …

  • rich exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences. 
  • insights, stories, laughs, and ah-ha moments gathered from break-out sessions.
  • support, understanding, encouragement and accountability that you receive from other like-minded individuals on a shared journey.
  • deep and enriched relationships that are formed as we overcome tough challenges together.
  • meaning, purpose and personal fulfillment that can be found when we help each other grow.

And my goal is to bring as many of these elements into the mindful habits community as possible.

This vision is aligned with a more significant cause called “51/2051”.

Dr. Martin Seligman, the founder of the Positive Psychology movement, has set the audacious goal to have 51% of the human population psychologically flourishing by 2051 with the intention to unite positive psychology’s forces in making the grandest impact on the whole of humanity.

Did someone say audacious goal? I’m in!

My purpose is also aligned with the Heroic Community founded by Brian Johnson.

In 2022 I also completed my Heroic Coaching Certification (class V rocks!) by participating in the Spartan race mentioned above.

My part in this crazy endeavour?

I completed the first stage in the summer of 2022 when I hit my personal on installing 100 mindful habits.

Along the way, I built a habit-tracking app and recorded three seasons of the mindful habits podcast.

The next stage in the journey is to fully embrace being a habits coach by helping courageous people transform anxiety into calm confidence.

This leads to my next audacious goal: To help others install 1,000,000 mindful habits.

And that is where the mindful habits community comes into play.

THE WORK.

To be fully transparent, this community is just getting started.

And to get the ball rolling, I am looking to work with an initial group of courageous people who want to get started today.

The mindful habits community is ideal for those who …

Please stay away if you are a closed-minded, negative know-it-all who is great at making excuses for not doing the work.

Since this community is just getting off the ground, I don’t have every tiny detail figured out (the perfectionist in me is screaming).

However, we must start somewhere as this work is too important to wait.

I am committed to seeing you get the results you are looking for, and I have a detailed plan for our work together.

What I have in mind for us is …

1) Create An Anxiety Transformation Plan

This is the strategy I’ve used to overcome my anxiety and improve my mental and physical health.

This framework enables you to create a personalized Anxiety Transformation Plan that addresses the seven contributing causes of anxiety.

What I love about the Anxiety Transformation Plan is that it provides enough structure to support you in getting results but is not too rigid that it becomes unwieldy or overwhelming.

2) Choose The Right Habits

Habits are the key to transforming your anxiety.

You are struggling with anxiety because you’ve unintentionally programmed yourself with thousands of mindless habits as directed by the part of your brain constantly scanning for threats.

So to turn theory into practice and then into mastery, we need to work on habits.

But not just any habits.

We want to install mindful habits.

For me to certify a habit as a mindful habit, it needs to be validated by research AND provide relief from anxiety.

Now the good news is that you don’t need to figure this out on your own.

I’ve done all the research for you.

Every mindful habit I recommend has been validated by research AND relieves anxiety.

3) Make It Fit Into Your Life

As a habits coach, the biggest mistake I see when people start their mindful habits journey is trying to change too much at once.

This includes setting too high expectations or adding too many habits at once.

You are setting yourself up for failure when you go down this path.

You will quickly get frustrated, miss a few days, and then give up all together.

The secret to solving this problem has to do with behavioural design.

You need to design habits in such a way that they fit into your life.

Inside the mindful habits community, I will show you how to design habits to make it easy and avoid overwhelm.

4) Make Real Progress

Inside the mindful habits community, we don’t do habits for the sake of habits.

We develop habits to build up our strengths, enabling us to overcome life’s challenges.

Every time you complete a mindful habit, you are transforming your identity.

You are healing your body.

You are quieting your inner critic.

You are bringing your calming system online.

You are getting physically stronger.

You are overcoming uncertainty and self-doubt.

You are building mental toughness.

You are improving your recovery rate.

You are taking one step closer to your goals.

You are developing calm confidence.

Some results will be immediate.

In my case, I stopped having regular panic attacks within about two weeks, and I don’t even remember the last time that I had one.

Some results will take time.

Up to this point in your life, you’ve unintentionally programmed yourself with thousands of mindless habits as directed by the part of your brain constantly scanning for threats.

And it can take some time to determine which combination of mindful habits will work for you.

Rest assured that this is part of the process.

Inside the mindful habits community, my goal is not only to help you tame your anxiety but to develop a strategy that you will use to transform every aspect of your life.

Something magical happens when a group of like-minded people come together to take on a challenge.

In our case, the challenge is to tame the anxiety dragon within each of us.

And to do this, we need to learn about ourselves, develop our strengths, and install some habits.
